I must admit, it was a bit strange but, in my book, anything I finish is worth reading. Pun intended.Product details

Erica House Their Shrunken World edition by Zak Kauffman Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This was not what I expected. The book starts super strong, right in the middle of the action, as we see the day to day life of a doll sized family ruled by our heroine/villain, Erica. It then flashes back and shows step by step how they got to this unique place. Along the way most of the characters reveal unexpected nuance, especially Erica's sister Danielle, who turns out to be a lot more proactive than I expected. Great read.
a very cool idea for a story and very well written!
Wow, this was so much more fun than it had any right to be. Deep characters, genuinely moving relationships and tons of silly fun.
The book really stuck out for me, and had a strong narrative.
In going to keep this review short, for personal reasons (I'm sick.)
I really loved this story. Yes, there were a few very small issues/errors...But it was all easily outweighed by the fun, imaginative, unique, and quite well written story.
I found this book by doping a general web search for novels about tiny people whine less me to a list on Goodreads. I narrowed that list down to 4 books, but this one looked best. After reading all 4, this one tied for first place...a huge reason is that the ending wasn't depressing like the other top placing book.
There was a bonus chapter for another book at the end and I couldn't find that book anywhere. So if I had to pick something negative, it would be that...I want more of this universe from this author. I'd like to see it be a bit more adult even, though I was pleasantly surprised to find this book NOT overly sugar coated like a lower level YA book.
The bottom line is that I enjoyed this so much that I looked up the author to tell him so, on Christmas....
If you're looking for an grown up version of the books about small people that you might have read in school, this is it. I can't wait for more.
I wanted to like it. The premise was interesting. But is just wasn't good. Erica was a horrible daughter. I understand her fears and shock, but seriously?
I like the concept in general, and there were very interesting issues explored in depth and nicely done. However, despite being a regular reader of YA fiction, I felt a little out of touch with these character's attitudes and perspectives and it was a bit oversexualized, but those parts came across a little immature, so overall I just felt confused about the target audience. Even so, because I like the concept so much, I would be interested in reading another book in the series if one were to be published.
I must admit, it was a bit strange but, in my book, anything I finish is worth reading. Pun intended.
