The first time I've bought a vampire novel I haven't bothered to finish. The story line jumps back and forth in time for no apparent reason between before the heroin was transformed and after. We're given to understand that the jewish vampires travel in time to right the wrongs done to the jewish people? Didn't read that far.. good luck

I really enjoyed Blood and Matzah! It is fast paced, page turner. I loved the main character Shira whom you can relate too. All in all I would and am recommending it all of my friends who love this genre!
This was a fun book that had an entirely different angle than any other book I've read. I hope Christine publishes the next in what I hope is a series soon!
Are you kidding? How can someone publish &*^% like this and call it worth reading? If she writes another, let us hope she improves 5000000%.
Christine Brown has a writing voice that is very introspective, unique and darn entertaining. I absolutely enjoyed the mysteriousness of "Blood and Matzah" and also the Jewishness. As a Christian myself, I felt that this book immersed me in the writer's Jewish culture, I even felt like I was Jewish myself for a minute.

A great, fast-paced...oh- and Jewish read!
What a treat this book is - first for this author. I hope she writes more. Didn't know what to expect as the title and cover did not give any real hints. However, being Jewish, Hungarian, and having Bela Lugosi as a cousin (the original Dracula), I had to give it a try. The writing flowed, was quirky and informative. The story grabbed me almost immediately and did not disappoint.
This book was so not what I was expecting - I'm not a fan of vampire literature so I wasn't sure what I was going to be reading - Ms. Brown's book was a very pleasant surprise! It took me back to my teen years where all my best friends were the 'rich, jewish girls' from 'South of the Boulevard' - this book describes in entertaining detail, the behavior of my friends on how they tried to hide things from their mothers and grandmothers and the requirements of behavior put upon them by their mothers and grandmothers. It makes so much sense now and brought a smile to my face as I remember what we did and got away with and more importantly, what we didn't get away with!
The vampire aspect of this book is integral but minimal - the story really makes sense with these characters.
The only thing I didn't like was that the book ended with a cliff-hanger! I turned the page expecting more to read but there was no more ) . I am looking forward to the next in the series. Diane
