I truly enjoyed this book. There are so many factual statements about the City of Boston, Boston Politics, law enforcement, and history of the Irish in Boston, that calling it a fiction is a debatable. My favorite descriptive of South Boston is that it is, “…bordered by Boston Harbor on one side, and the United States on the other.” I have a library of books at home that I only got through the first few chapters before becoming bored, not this book. You will love this book if; you do know Boston politics, or, if you want to know Boston politics, if you are in law enforcement in Boston, or if you want an understanding of law enforcement in Boston, and if you are Irish and are from Boston, or if you want to know about the Irish in Boston. Just finished Code Black and I cannot recommend it highly enough; a suspenseful page-turner from start to finish! While this book will resonate with anyone who knows or loves Boston, or who is a regular denizen of our "T", Code Black will appeal to a much broader audience - as a fast-paced, action-packed story, with lots of colorful & unique characters and innumerable plot twists and turns. Thrown into the exciting mix are the spectre of terrorism, race-relations, Boston's finest, the behind-the-scenes world of the MBTA, and great characters from the margins of Boston. It'll keep you guessing to the end. Cannot wait to read the next installment of our 2 sergeants, Morris & Elijah ! A fantastic STORY and a great read!

A great read! Code Black is set in Boston. So,right away that is something to like about the book. The authors did an amazing job of mixing historical facts with believable fiction. It had me on the edge of my seat as I followed the T-cops,Morris and Elijah, through the streets and subways of Boston. I was alternately fearing for their lives and shaking my head in amazement as I questioned could this really be happening. The interesting thing is some of it really did happen, and some it is just very well written fiction. I wanted to know how the story ended, but I didn't want the book to end! I hope the authors are already working on a sequel!
