I have to say I have read a lot of books, and Casey and Jake still remain number one in my all time favorites. I have been waiting for Jake and Casey's (Cake) story to continue every since the author wrote that it would,, always checking to see if it was available yet. I hope the author continues this series with other characters. I have read the first Cake several times, because it is that good... I will read this one again I am sure. If you have not read this series, do it now. Start from the beginning. Warning though, don't count on getting much done because it's painful to put down once you get started.

A lot happens in this story that have nothing to do with Jake directly - but everything to do with how their marriage survives. It’s a wonderful ending (so far) to the Cake pair - and now I’m ready to see how things turn out with other members of the family.
WOW! And WOW again! I love this series and J.Bengtsson! I'd really like to get into the author's head for awhile so I could love more of the magic that is Cake....

I originally ordered this book on KU, just as I did with the other 3 books. I believe I got to 12% before I logged back on to and bought it outright -exactly the same as I did with the first 3 books. This author is definitely a 1click from now on! I CAN'T wait for more please!!
The Cake Series is one of my all time favorite series and "CakeThe Newlyweds" did not disappoint. One thing that really stuck out to me is, I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard when reading a book. I love Casey and Jake's relationship, it never fails to disappoint. The worst part of the book was that it ended. It breaks my heart that Ms. Bengtsson has chosen to close the chapter on Cake, I hope she reconsiders this decision. I do look forward to learning more about Luke and I hope he finds love, Quinn and Keith definitely will need some too.
I cannot recommend this series enough, I have read and listened to it multiple times!
Jill, the author, has re-outdone herself with her 2nd Cake novel. The relationship between the main characters is just as enjoyable to read, and she manages to add new information which helps us to understand them better - especially Jake. There is more information about the trauma Jake endured as a child, which helps us to know him better, and respect him even more. There is also a very humorous event in the water at the beach, which will make you laugh out loud. So this book travels all over the place in terms of the lives of Jake and Casey, all of which adds to the fiber of the plot, and allows us to get a good sense of their lives together. I happen to like the way Jill writes her stories, as they are realistic, funny, serious and enjoyable. I look forward to any book she writes.
Oh WoW that is the best way to express the talent of J Bengtsson. She as a way to make you feel every emotion she writes in her books and this one is no different one moment you and balling your eyes out and the next moment you are laughing so hard you can barely breathe. Of course she leaves you wanting more of her characters, that have found a spot in your heart. Honestly when a author write a sequel to their first book in the series it is always hard to capture the characters their are revisiting, but is not the case here. It was a perfect continuation from the story. I am really looking forward to J. Bengtsson next books.

J Bengtsson does it again, she gives us more McKallister hijinks and emotion. We find Jake and Casey married and settling into their new way of life.
Don’t worry! We do get a look back to pre-wedding, the wedding day, and the honeymoon. Expect the usual humor and out loud laughs we’ve come to expect from this crazy family.
And also as expected, there is emotion, a lot of emotion. Have your tissues ready. Jake is having some issues that have to deal with the what happened to him in the past. Casey is also having some issues. Especially when Jake goes back on tour and Casey stays home to work.
As usual real life intrudes and some very important decisions need to be made and agonized over. But in the end, the newlyweds get their HEA. It just takes a few backroads to get there.
I thank my lucky stars that I discovered this amazing author early in her career because she is a jewel of a find. Even more impressive is that I e-mailed her to tell her how gaga I was over Cake and she e-mailed back the same day! I first became intrigued with her writing when I saw the cover with the unusual title and I had to give Cake a try. Boy, was I glad. What's even better is the next 3 books just keep getting better and better. I can't wait to see what comes next. Cake the Newlyweds have everything I want in a good romance novel, great lovable characters, an original plot line, humor, angst and that happy ever after ending. I have encouraged all of my reading friends to read this series and everyone has loved it. If you haven't been swept away by the Cake phenomena get going and purchase these beautiful books. And who doesn't love why the book is called Cake?
